By a vote of 74 to 25, the Senate approved the financial markets bailout bill tonight. Senators Barack Obama, John McCain and Joe Biden voted for it.
Now we await House action on Friday, where we’ll see if the revised bill and added tax break sweeteners are enough to help get a bailout OK from Representatives this time.
In the run up to that re-vote across Capitol Hill, the words of journalist Edward R. Murrow seem particularly appropriate: "Goodnight, and good luck."
