Happy Turkey Day to All!
I'm a sucker for holiday traditions. So Thanksgiving is the start of the best part of the year for me. And as soon as we finish off today's leftovers this weekend, we'll put up the Christmas tree.
Thanksgiving 2008 is right on track. The hubby has made his traditional pumpkin pie. As soon as I post this, I'll mix up Mam-ma's Dressing, using the recipe that my grandmother gave me the year I moved into my first apartment. Then midafternoon, I'll pop the turkey breast for two into the oven.
Since it's just the hubby and me, we don't go crazy. No all day gorging. Instead, we eat at our regular dinner time, although that means fighting off the temptation all afternoon to cut into the pie!
And, of course, there's the annual Cowboys game.
Yep, it's a great time of year. Here's hoping you're having as wonderful a Thanksgiving as we are.
Thanksgiving gifts: I'm sure many of you already thought of folks who don't have as much to be thankful for on this day or the other 364. Thank you for supporting organizations that try to bring a little cheer into the lives of those folks.
