Not to put a damper on your upcoming weekend, but some of you might be spending time on tax chores this Saturday or Sunday.
It’s you folks who pay estimated taxes. Your second installment for 2008 is due on Monday, June 16.
At least we get an extra day this time since the usual 15th of the month deadline falls on Sunday.

I’m sure y’all are all quite adept at sending in your payment, either electronically by EFTPS or mailing it in via voucher.
But the upcoming deadline might have slipped past some folks, especially since earlier this year the IRS decided to forgo mailing voucher packets. In March, the agency informed tax professionals that it will discontinue mailing paper Form 1040–ES vouchers and envelopes to taxpayers who file electronically.
In addition, noted the IRS, "ES filers who file a paper return will receive only one mailing instead of quarterly mailings."
Taxpayer complaints, I hear, have prompted the e-file advocating agency to reconsider this particular mailing moratorium.
If, in the meantime, you plan to mail in your estimated tax payment Monday and don’t have the voucher, you can download it here. The vouchers are at the end of the PDF file; the first six pages are worksheets and instructions.
And this story has some tips on filing these four extra tax forms throughout the year.
